Summer Resolutions

Lucy challenged us to blog about our summer resolutions. Here are mine:

1. Spend more time with my family -- both my immediate and extended family. I want to spend more quality time, enjoying the great outdoors and enjoying each other's company.

2. I want to get my scrapbook layouts organized into albums.

3. I'd like to get away with my sisters and my mom for a weekend.

4. I would like to go camping or to the cabin for a weekend get-away.

5. I would like to do some hiking this summer. Perhaps we'll do the Alexander Murray trail again.

6. And the biggest resolution -- I want to lose some weight so I can at least wear shorts and not feel self-conscious.

busy week

I haven't been scrapping much this week. I've been doing some spring-cleaning, here in my house and also for my 88 yr-old grandmother. I did visit the library on Thursday for scrapbooking, but didn't finish up the layout I was working on. Oh well, I'll find some time this week.
My two older boys had their Air Cadet Annual on Saturday -- they've been so busy with band practices all week. Timothy won an award for "Best Male Recruit". He loves Air Cadets and works so hard to keep his boots shined and his uniform looking great. Luke didn't win an award but he should feel proud of himself for the GREAT year! We certainly are proud of both our boys :-) They are both going to camp this summer -- Luke goes to Survival Camp and Timothy to Basic Camp.

GREAT quote for today!

I read this on another blog. I really needed this today!

"Finish each day and be done with it. You have done what you could. Some blunders and absurdities no doubt crept in; forget them as soon as you can. Tomorrow is a new day; begin it well and serenely and with too high a spirit to be cumbered with your old nonsense.” - Ralph Waldo Emerson

Double Layout

Forgot to post this 2-pager that I did for Lucy's sketch site last week. I love it because it uses lots of photos of me and my big sister :-)

Some layouts I did this weekend

These were for the online crop at Scrapbooking Fanatics.
This challenge was to stamp with paint.
This one was to use some sort of masking technique. I'm not totally sure that I like masking. I feel like changing this layout cause I think I messed up with the masking.

This challenge was to use your child's artwork on a layout. My kids went crazy making these "Giboon Monsters". They made almost one hundred! We kipt them all for a while, but I eventually took pics of them and made them through out all but their favorite. These were SOME of the ones they kept.

Thanks for looking!

Taking part in an online crop this weekend at Scrapbooking Fanatics. Lots of fun and some GREAT challenges posted! I've got a few challenges done so far, but hoping to do more this evening.

I'll post my layouts a bit later.

Two layouts done this evening

I choose two layouts of Lu's and scraplifted them. I used the same pp for each one. I like how they turned out :-)

Thanks for the inspiration, Lu!

Partner Scraplift

I am taking part in a "partner scraplift" at Memories From Scrap. I am paired up with Lu. I've looked through her blog and found several layouts that I want to lift. I tried to get at some scrapping tonight, but the time slipped away so quickly. Hopefully tomorrow I'll have a couple of new layouts to post here.

Welcome!!!

I decided to start a "scrappy" blog so I can share my scrapbook pages with others. Scrapbooking, to me, brings a lot of pleasure (most of the time!). It helps me express myself through my art. It also enables me to put my memories on paper so that it will be around in the years to come -- memories my children and grandchildren will be sure to enjoy.

So, this blog is for all things scrappy -- the good, the bad and the ugly :-)
