Snowy day

January 28
Devin started to paint Jessica's bedroom. This is one color she picked out. The other was orange. I'll post that tomorrow :-)

January 29
It was stormy this morning. By mid-afternoon it had cleared up quite a bit. This is what it looks like outside my front door now.

Take a look :-)

Happy Birthday, Devin!

My hubby celebrated his 41st birthday today. We gave him breakfast in bed this morning. He was very good about it considering that it takes him a while to wake up :-) Lots of cards, love and giggles on the bed after bnreakfats was done. Good to see that the kids are not too old to have fun with the PARENTS! LOL!

Baked a cake for dessert this evening.

cake decorating

January 17
Usually, on Saturday mornings, you'll find me decorating a cake. This is one of two that I did today.

Caught this shot of Jessica and Luke playing chess. I put a stop to the gaming systems for a bit and they pull out the old standbys :-) I love it!

January 16

Deanne came to visit and brought her puppy, Meika. Jessica absolutely loves Meika and occupies her the entire time they are here. And Meika is not the sleepy puppy she once was -- she's a ball of energy now!

my favorite color

I posted a challenge on Sisterhood of Scrap to "tell about your favorite color and what it says about you". Well, my favorite color is either brown or green -- can't choose one! A lot of my clothing is is brown or green and that's the colors I normally head for when shopping. Plus, my kids always know that when we play a game, my piece is always green :-)

According to this site, here's what it says about my personality:

"Brown: A Brown person has stamina and patience, tending to be very solid and substantial, conscientious, dependable, steady and conservative. Browns are not impulsive, and may be inarticulate and tactless but they love responsibility and are reliable and kindly. If you chose Brown, watch out for a tendency to be obstinate and inflexible."

"Green: The color of harmony and balance, Green symbolizes hope, renewal and peace, and is usually liked by the gentle and sincere. Greens are generally frank, community-minded people, fairly sociable but preferring peace at any price. Green people can be too self-effacing, modest and patient, so they may get exploited by others. They are usually refined, civilized and reputable. "

I think the brown description fits me better, but I can see some of the "green" in me :-)

I used a sketch by Deanne Burton for this layout. Papers are Stampin' Up.

Look at my sweet, youngest sister. Isn't she gorgeous!

January 14
Found this kitty outside our door this morning. It was storming out and I guess she took shelter under the carport.

We let her in the porch for a bit (until she made me sneeze). Put an old towel outside with some food/water for her. Called the local pet groomer (she takes in stray animals) and she said if it was still here by mid-afternoon, she'd be by to get it.

We were startled when she jumped up onto the screen of our back door. She couldn't get down by herself and she did it so much we ended up taking the screen out.

Anyway, in an hour or so, she was on the go -- hopefully found her way home!

365 days of photos

I wasn't going to start this, as I figured I'd be too stressed in making sure I got one pic every day. Thought about it a bit and I just might give it a go :-)

Just started yesterday, though I did go back and found a couple more photos I took since the beginning of the month.

January 1

We received a small fondue pot for Christmas. I managed to snag 3 BIG Lindt chocolate bars at 75% off. They're perfect for fondue! Delicious.

January 9

We love playing games! This is a new one we also received for Christmas -- Canadian Trivia. Pretty good game!

January 12

We've had a shortage of birds here this fall/winter. I don't know what's happend to them. Usually at this time of year, we'd be getting Northern Juncos, Chickadees, Redpolls and LOTS of Sparrows. Today we saw three little Juncos at the feeder. I hope they stick around (and tell their friends!)

January 13

Laundry is never-ending :-) I folder 4 loads this morning. And no, it's not put away yet.

DT call....

at Sisterhood of Scrap. Hurry over and take a look :-)

Recent layouts

I've been a scrapping machine :-) Since the beginning of December, I've done 34 layouts! That's a lot for me.

Here's a few of my most recent.

Scrappy News.... and a few layouts

Had some exciting news now for a while -- just getting around to sharing it :-)

I was accepted on the design team at Scrapbook Heaven for another 6-month term. AND... I am also the Event Team Coordinator-- very excited about that. I love planning and hosting events. Keep checking on the forum for our January event!!
I also was asked to be Guest Designer at Lovebug Scrapbooking. Super excited to be part of this team. Lovebug was THE first scrapbook forum I joined when I started scrapbooking. I love it there!

I love this photo of my oldest son!

These two really DO love each other (even though I just had to break up another little spat!) They're lost, and bored, when the other is missing.

A favorite pastime of my boys!
