I forgot to mention that I am now on the dt for Deanne's sketch blog - A Scrap Addict. Gonna be fun :-) She's got some amazing girls on the team!

Also, my oldest son turns 16 today. Hard to believe! He opted out of a traditional cake -- wanted to try something different. This is an ice-cream type of cake. I'll post the recipe a bit later.

My daughter turned 12 last week -- she's certainly acting and looking more grown up. I love the expression on her face here :-) Clothes are certainly a hit with her ANYTIME now!

My second son, Timothy, comes home from cadet camp tomorrow. We've really missed him. He's called twice and doesn't seem to be homesick. He did well on his report -- 94%!

He's gone!

Timothy left for Air Cadet camp this morning. Had another fuss with schedule, etc (arrgh!) but he got away okay. I hated being rushed and frustrated, but it was nothing WE could have changed.

The camp is Introduction to Survival. He gets to learn about surviving in the wild and has to spend ONE night alone in the bush! Ulp! I'm sure he will do fine, though I do admit I am a bit nervous :-)

Saying good-bye to big brother!

He is looking forward to his next two weeks! We sure will miss him around here.

Happy Birthday to .......

ME! My birthday was on Friday -- I turned 41 :-) The day was a bit hectic as my sister and family left in the morning. I spent just about the whole day cleaning (you know how it is when company leaves) In the afternoon, Devin and I tried to play tennis but it was too windy out. We came home again and I noticed icing sitting on the counter ;-) Pretended not to notice. Devin and I left again for some errands. When we finally got back with supper, there was NO evidence of cake-making in sigght -- well, except for a ring of dirty icing all around the sink! LOL!

After supper, Jessica and Benjamin brought out the cake they made. It sure was yummy, even if the icing job couse have used some help!

We watched a movie (Meerkat Manor) and had some snacks in the evening. All in all, a great day!
